In English and Scottish folklore, a Bogy (also spelled Bogey) is a nasty and mischievous evil spirit which tries to terrify people. It is considered to be an import of the [[Boggart]]. Bogy comes from bogle, the Scottish word for "ghost". Bogey, during World War II, was the name Allies used for an unidentified aircraft presumed to be hostile.
