The Tauri are somewhat of an amalgamation of other creatures of Vana'diel: Their tails resemble that of a [[:Category:Lizards|lizard]], their horns that of a [[:Category:Rams|ram]], their wings that of a [[:Category:Giant Bats|bat]] and their claws that of a [[:Category:Crabs|crab]]. These monsters are horrific, attempting to kill any who come too close. Luckily for the explorers of [[Vana'diel]], they can be found in only a few select locations.

For those who actually defeat these creatures, a [[Taurus Horn|horn]] and [[Taurus Wing|wing]] can sometimes be recovered – although neither is particularly demanded by crafters.
