This is the first Dark Knight Artifact Armor quest - otherwise known as AF1.

Giddeus

• With your main job set to level 40+ Dark Knight, talk to Raibaht in Cid's Lab in the Metalworks. Raibaht asks you to find a book detailing the Darksteel Formula.

After this point, the rest of the quest can be completed on any job.

• Talk to Mighty Fist in the Darksteel Forge to receive a Letter from the Darksteel Forge.
• Talk to Cochal-Monchal in the west wing of the Optistery in Windurst Waters North at (F-8<span style="position:absolute; left:34px; top:px; z-index:15; width:32px; height:32px; background:

1. 5555FF; opacity:0.5;">).

• Obtain 2 Yagudo Cherry (only 1 is required) one to trade to Quu Bokye and one to spawn Vaa Huja the Erudite.
• Head to Giddeus.
  • Optional: Drop down Drop E at (G-8<span style="position:absolute; left:34px; top:px; z-index:15; width:32px; height:32px; background:

1. 5555FF; opacity:0.5;">). Continue north to the storage room located at (G-6<span style="position:absolute; left:34px; top:px; z-index:15; width:32px; height:32px; background:
2. 5555FF; opacity:0.5;">) and speak to Quu Bokye. He will mention Vaa Huja the Erudite and something about Yagudo Cherries. Trade him a Yagudo Cherry and he will reveal Vaa Huja the Erudite's location and some interesting information about him.

• • Return to the first map via the Connection A at (F-8<span style="position:absolute; left:34px; top:px; z-index:15; width:32px; height:32px; background:

• Proceed to (H-7<span style="position:absolute; left:34px; top:px; z-index:15; width:32px; height:32px; background:

1. 5555FF; opacity:0.5;">) on Map 1. Drop down the hole there (Drop D).

• Head south to transition back to Map 1.
• Proceed southeast to (H-14<span style="position:absolute; left:34px; top:px; z-index:15; width:32px; height:32px; background:

• Do not drop off any of the cliffs after you exit the cave.

• Trade a Yagudo Cherry to the ??? at (H-14<span style="position:absolute; left:34px; top:px; z-index:15; width:32px; height:32px; background:

1. 5555FF; opacity:0.5;">) to spawn Vaa Huja the Erudite.(You only need one Yagudo Cherry if you're going with a group).

• Kill Vaa Huja the Erudite and check the ??? again to receive the "Darksteel Formula".
  • Optional: Talk to Cochal-Monchal in the Optistery.
• Return to the Metalworks.
  • Optional: Talk to Mighty Fist.
• Talk to Raibaht to complete the quest.
