Information

There were two Versions of the paper: edition 1 and edition 2.

The newspaper was home to various articles, stories and detailed information on various people, places, and events in Vanadiel.

Characters that work for the paper had a above their heads.

In recent updates for edition 2 an advertising section had been added so people can advertise various planned events and linkshells etc.

A new issue of the newspaper was produced monthly.

The Vana'diel Tribune was suspended in February 2006.

History

In the old versions of the newspaper there where 5 special editions each covering the following in order: the art of conflict, weddings, summerfest, Movalpolos, and the harvest festival.

Including special editions and the original paper there are currently about 38 papers (including papers not available on the USA site).

Paper began in Japan at vol 00 at April 26, 2002. The Japanese site has all of the Vana'diel Tribune articles up on their site. [1]

USA/Europe edition began at vol 18 at October 28, 2003.

The paper could be accessed via PlayOnline, by clicking "Extras Vana’diel Tribune" ingame while in the Mog House (now defunct), or visiting the official site at PlayOnline.

As of Feburary 27th 2006 The Vana'diel Tribune is no longer being produced, instead "Life in Vana'diel" articles (formerly "Player Related Articles") will show up at the offical website irregulary. However all old issues Of the paper can still be seen.

With the menu redesigning after the release of Treasures of Aht Urhgan, the "/pol" command and the "Tribune" command inside the Mog House were removed, replaced by "/shutdown" and the "Mog Locker" commands, though "/shutdown" is not a new command.

After the POL main site's remodeling, links to the Tribune on the North American front page were removed. The articles are now hosted on Europe's servers. [2]
